The Madan Mahal station redevelopment project has faced criticism for its slow progress and quality issues, with complaints reaching the Railway Board and West Central Railway. The Katni-Bina third railway line, a coal route, will ease congestion and allow for faster passenger train movement. The Katni grade separator, the longest in the division, will facilitate the movement of goods trains and improve passenger train speed.
