Western Railway conducted ticket checking drives in April and May 2024, resulting in the collection of ₹38.03 crore in fines from passengers traveling without tickets. In May 2024, they collected ₹17.19 crore in fines from 2.80 lakh passengers found without tickets or with irregular tickets, including cases of unbooked luggage. In addition, the Western Railway also collected ₹4.71 crore in fines from over 1 lakh cases detected in the Mumbai suburban region in May 2024.
