Construction of a new terminus in Jogeshwari began a year ago with an allocated budget of INR 70 crore by Western Railway (WR). However, the project has faced delays due to slow progress, leading to a build-up of garbage and muck, particularly worsened by pre-monsoon rains. The excavation work resulted in...

a significant amount of waste, which is being removed using special trains. A multi-crore repair yard project for Vande Bharat AC sleeper trains, approved by the Railway Board, has also been delayed due to labour shortages and lack of nearby housing. Work has resumed with a new deadline of December 2025, pushing back the original June 2024 completion date. Only 25% of the work is complete. The Jogeshwari terminus will serve long-distance trains from the northwest and north and will include a cargo shed and repair facility for Vande Bharat trains. The terminus will be accessible via the Western Express Highway and will be served by suburban and metro lines, including Line 6 and Line 7. Twelve trains will be relocated from Mumbai Central and Bandra terminus to Jogeshwari. The terminus will feature an island platform to manage two trains at once. Currently, Mumbai has six railway terminuses.

Jogeshwari mein ek nayi terminus banne ka kaam ek saal pehle shuru hua tha, Western Railway (WR) ne iske liye INR 70 crore ka budget diya tha. Lekin, kaam bahut dhire chal raha hai, is wajah se garbage aur muck jama ho gaya hai, aur pre-monsoon rains se yeh aur bhi...

badh gaya hai. Sirf 25% kaam ho paya hai. Jogeshwari terminus northwest aur north se aane wali long-distance trains ko serve karega aur isme Vande Bharat trains ke liye ek cargo shed aur repair facility bhi hogi. Terminus Western Express Highway se accessible hoga aur isko suburban aur metro lines se service milegi, jaise ki Line 6 aur Line 7. Mumbai Central aur Bandra terminus se 12 trains ko Jogeshwari shift kiya jaayega. Terminus mein ek island platform hoga jiske saath ek saath do trains manage ki ja sakti hai. Phir bhi, Mumbai mein 6 railway terminuses hai, har ek Western aur Central Railways pe 3.
