of a larger trend, as five other regional railway engineering regiments have already been shut down. The closure will impact approximately 1500 personnel, who will be relocated by September 2024. The camp was formed in 1949 under the Territorial Army Act, 1948, with the primary goal of maintaining railway communications in wartime and responding to emergencies like railway strikes during peacetime. A total of 20,000 railway employees have been trained at the camp since its inception, with the most recent training session occurring in March 2024. The closure of the camp will also see the closure of its canteen, which provided benefits to retired military personnel.

Yeh camp banne ke baad se 20,000 railway employees ko training di gayi hai, jismein sabse recent training session March 2024 me hua tha.
