A special train service running between Shoranur and Kannur has been immensely popular with passengers in the Malabar region. convenience for commuters traveling to Kannur from Tanur and beyond, as well as those heading towards Shoranur who miss the Parasuram Express. The train currently operates on specific days of the week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for Shoranur to Kannur; Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for the return journey) but is scheduled to be discontinued on July 31st and August 1st, respectively. Passengers and the Malabar Rail Users Forum advocate for making the service permanent, citing its success and the need for a permanent solution to the overcrowding issue. The train, categorized as an 'Express' service, charges Rs 30 per ticket, while passengers request the implementation of the standard unreserved train fare of Rs 10 for journeys under 200 kilometers.

Malabar region mein, Shoranur aur Kannur ke beech chalne wala ek special train service passengers ke beech bahut hit ho gaya hai. Train ki kami aur overcrowding ke wajah se, yeh service temporary basis pe start kiya gaya tha, lekin passengers ab isko permanent banane ki demand kar rahe hain. ...

Tanur aur uske aage se Kannur jaane wale passengers ke liye yeh train bahut useful hai, aur jo passengers subah Parasuram Express miss kar dete hain, woh bhi is train se Shoranur ja sakte hain. Train abhi Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays aur Fridays ko Shoranur se Kannur ke liye chal raha hai, aur Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays aur Saturdays ko Kannur se Shoranur ke liye. Lekin yeh service July 31st aur August 1st ko band hone wala hai. Passengers aur Malabar Rail Users Forum yeh service permanent banane ki demand kar rahe hain, aur keh rahe hain ki yeh service kaafi successful raha hai. 'Express' category ka yeh train Rs 30 ka ticket charge karta hai, lekin passengers chahte hain ki unreserved train ka Rs 10 ka fare lagaaya jaaye, jo 200 kilometres se kam ki journey ke liye hai.

This will take away the crowd of daily season ticket passengers from long distance trains. Journey duration from CAN end to be reduced to 4 hours 30 minutes.
Better to extend till Kasaragod.

Yes very good move to introduce this train. Should be made daily. The biggest issue inside Kerala has always been less passenger trains and hence people relying more on long distance trains for local travel. As of now it is a regular passenger train rake. There should be more MEMU rakes that should be run in Malabar region
