UPI transactions have been particularly high at stations like Dakshineswar, Baranagar, Esplanade, Rabindra Sarobar, Gitanjali, Sealdah, Howrah, and Howrah Maidan. To use UPI payments, passengers simply need to inform the ticket counter staff of their intention to use the UPI method. The staff will then provide a QR code displayed on the screen for the passenger to scan and complete the transaction. This new system aims to eliminate the hassle of carrying cash for Metro journeys.
