government's lackadaisical attitude. The 190-kilometer railway line, moving through Meppadi-Sulthan Bathery-Chiackabergy and ending at Nanjangud, aims to connect Kochi with Bengaluru in 7 hours, Wayanad and Bengaluru in just 2.5 hours and Mysore in one hour. The project was initially included in the ‘Pink Book’ of the railway's proposed projects and earmarked for Rs 3000 Crore. The state government's lack of interest led to the exit of E Sreedharan, who was appointed in 2013 to prepare the final survey report. tha. 190 kilometer long railway line Meppadi-Sulthan Bathery-Chiackabergy se ho kar Nanjangud pe khatam hota hai. Iska aim Kochi ko Bengaluru se 7 hours mein, Wayanad ko Bengaluru se 2.5 hours mein aur Mysore se 1 hour mein connect karna hai. Project pehle railway ke proposed projects ki ‘Pink Book’ mein shamil tha aur iske liye Rs 3000 Crore allocated kiye gaye the. State government ki interest ki kami ke karan E Sreedharan, jinko 2013 mein final survey report prepare karne ke liye appoint kiya gaya tha, project se alag ho gaye. Lekin, political situation badalne ke baad, state government ab project ko support dene ke liye ready hai, kyunki Thalassery-Mysore rail link, jisko pehle state support kar raha tha, start nahi ho paya.
