The Minister asserted that the Railways are responsible for managing their waste according to the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 and their own circular. He added that the Railways only started work after a notice warning of prosecution was issued in June. He also requested Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take proper steps to manage waste.

ke saath kai baar meeting ki hai aur waste management ke baare mein notices bhi diye hain, lekin Railways ke officials ne inhe ignore kiya hai. Minister ne kaha hai ki Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 aur Railways ke apne circular ke mutabiq Railways apne waste ka management karne ke liye zimmedar hai. Unhone yeh bhi kaha ki Railways ne June me prosecution ka notice aane ke baad hi kaam shuru kiya.
