Railways has approved a 190 km route for the final location survey between Biratnagar, Nepal, and New Mal Junction. The project involves constructing new railway tracks in India and Nepal, including 12.5 km in India and 18.6 km in Nepal. The 'Chicken Neck' is a strategically important corridor as it connects Northeast India and is considered vulnerable to external threats. The Indian government is seeking to reduce its dependence on this corridor by creating alternative routes.

hai, us par nirbharta kam karna hai. Indian Railways ne Nepal ke Biratnagar aur New Mal Junction ke beech 190 km ke route ko final location survey ke liye approve kiya hai. Is project me India aur Nepal me nayi rail track banane ka kaam shamil hai, jisme India me 12.5 km aur Nepal me 18.6 km track banaya jaega. 'Chicken Neck' ek strategic importance wala corridor hai, kyunki ye Northeast India ko jodta hai aur isko external threats se vulnerable mana jata hai. India Sarkar is corridor par apni nirbharta kam karne ki koshish kar rahi hai aur iske liye alternative routes bana rahi hai.
