Alstom stated that their offer was globally competitive, considering the advanced design and local manufacturing requirements. Despite working to optimize their offer, the price remained above IR's desired range. A new tender is expected to be issued, aiming to attract more bidders. The aim is to make India self-reliant in the production of such trains, as per the Make in India initiative.
