The incident was confirmed by the GRP Station House Officer (SHO), who stated that the women were from Gopalpur and were identified as Babita (wife of Rambabu), Mamta (wife of Shyam Babu), and Devki (wife of Ram Lagan alias Ramu). Local residents reported the incident to the police, and the three bodies were sent to DMCH for post-mortem. The Mukhiya (headman) of the village, Rajkumar Das, also confirmed the deaths and stated that railway officials had inspected the electrification work earlier that day, and the trial run was initiated later in the evening. The engine was traveling towards Bela Gumti when the accident occurred. The deceased women's funerals are scheduled for Saturday following the post-mortem.
