Chowraha, Chhindwara, was killed. The other occupant of the car, Parmeshwar Sahoo, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the Anuppur district hospital before being referred to Bilaspur. The impact caused damage to three coaches of the train, which was traveling from Bilaspur to Anuppur. The train was later sent on its journey after the damaged coaches were refitted. The Anuppur police were on the scene and cleared the vehicle from the railway tracks to avoid traffic disruption.
