The project, initially estimated at ₹3000 crore, finally cost ₹5500 crore, with ₹2500 crore for civil work, ₹1000 crore for signaling and overhead equipment, and ₹1200 crore for land acquisition. The DFC project began in July 2016, under the Ambala division. The project, approved in 2006, was initially proposed in 2005.

DFC project Ambala division ke neeche July 2016 mein start hua tha. 2005 mein propose kiya gaya yeh project 2006 mein approve hua tha.
