ARPA moves Railway Minister with plea to boost train connectivity in Assam

The memorandum called for a re-introduction of the Rail Budget to ensure transparency, decentralization of power within the Railway Ministry, a review of the selection of stations under the ABSS scheme, and more attention from the construction wing to passenger needs. ARPA also proposed various specific improvements, including the expansion of suburban services, the resumption of pre-COVID train services, the extension of certain train routes, the restoration of pre-COVID stoppages, the development of Dibrugarh Town station, and the provision of ramp facilities at stations. Long-term suggestions included the construction of new broad gauge lines to connect Sivasagar with Jorhat, Salona with Khumtai, and Dibrugarh with Kanubari, the rationalization of train routes to and from the northeast, the development of Dhamalgaon Jn, and the introduction of metro services in Guwahati.

ARPA ne alag alag specific improvements ke baare mein bhi suggestion diye hain, jisme suburban services ka expansion, pre-COVID train services ko phir se shuru karna, kuchh train routes ko extend karna, pre-COVID stoppages ko phir se start karna, Dibrugarh Town station ka development, aur stations pe ramp facilities dene ka maang kiya gaya hai. Long-term suggestion mein Sivasagar ko Jorhat se, Salona ko Khumtai se, aur Dibrugarh ko Kanubari se connect karne ke liye new broad gauge lines banane ka, northeast se aane-jaane wali train routes ko rationalize karne ka, Dhamalgaon Jn ka development karne ka, aur Guwahati mein metro services introduce karne ka maang kiya gaya hai.
