This project is part of the Eastern Railway's Varanasi Division's effort to double the Prayagraj-Banaras railway line. Construction began two years ago, with the first girder being placed on the Jhusi side in June 2022. A total of 24 girders will be installed on 25 pillars. Currently, 19 girders have been installed from the Jhusi side and one from the Daraganj side. The bridge, costing around ₹500 crore, is expected to increase train speed and reduce travel time between Prayagraj and Banaras upon completion.
