Committee Meeting in Ranchi. According to the MP, extending the train's route after Asansol through Madhupur and New Giridih to Koderma will provide a new transportation facility for hundreds of rural passengers in remote areas. Arun Joshi, a member of the South Eastern Railway Zone Advisory Committee, added that direct train service from Tatanagar for Giridih passengers will be beneficial to the railways as well. The responsibility for operating the Tata-Asansol Express falls under the East Central Zone, Hajipur. The South Eastern Railway Zone officials in Kolkata have assured the MP that they will contact the East Central Zone Hajipur regarding his suggestion. Currently, there are no direct trains from Tatanagar to Koderma after the Purushottam Express. Regarding the operational aspects, the Tatanagar-Asansol Express currently departs Tatanagar at 5 pm and reaches Asansol station. The train then departs for Tatanagar at 9 am the next day. This leads to congestion due to idle coaches. However, the train can easily travel between Asansol and Koderma (182 km) in 14 hours. The new arrangement would require the railway to clean and maintain the train's bogies in Koderma instead of Asansol. This is because the train departs for Asansol shortly after arriving in Tatanagar. Tatanagar has several local train rakes that move from one station to another on different routes.
