Further, during a re-demarcation of railway acquired land by the railway and land acquisition department a year ago, 63 more villagers were found to be affected. Their claims were submitted to the Chakradharpur Railway Division office, but were denied. The railway is planning to construct a bypass line from Noamundi to Padapahar Jamkudia Down Line, requiring 21.32 acres of land. The villagers are demanding the railway department to fulfill the promises made to them and are protesting against the land acquisition.
