Rail enthusiasts revive request for rail line between Mettupalayam and Chamarajanagar via Sathyamangalam

Rail passenger associations in Coimbatore have renewed their request for a new railway line connecting Coimbatore to Mysuru via Chamarajanagar. The proposed line would reduce travel time to Mysuru and Bengaluru significantly and boost transportation across the region. This project, originally planned in 1915, involves building 277 bridges, 138 curves, and 61 tunnels, with potential for tunnel boring machines to minimize environmental impact. Concerns regarding forest area have led to previous delays, but new technologies and collaboration between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka governments are being suggested for implementation. Is proposed line se Mysuru aur Bengaluru tak travel time kaafi kam ho jayega aur region mein transportation bhi boost hoga. Yeh project, jo originally 1915 mein plan kiya gaya tha, 277 bridges, 138 curves, aur 61 tunnels banane ki baat kar raha hai. Tunnel boring machines use karne ki baat bhi chal rahi hai, taaki environment par kam impact pade. Forest area ke baare mein concerns ki wajah se yeh project pehle delay ho gaya tha, lekin ab new technologies aur Tamil Nadu aur Karnataka government ka saath aane ki baat chal rahi hai. Is proposed line se kaafi fayde honge, jaise ki transportation mein improvement, industrial development, job opportunities, kam travel time, aur key cities ke beech better connectivity.
