officers recruited/being recruited to the IRMS through CSE 2022, 2023, and 2024 will be given the option to choose between the three sub-cadres: IRMS (Traffic), IRMS (Personnel), or IRMS (Accounts). This decision was announced in a Gazette notification on October 9, 2024. Before 2019, the eight Group A services of the railways were separate and recruited through different exams. The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had approved the unification of these services into the IRMS in 2019.

2024 ke through IRMS mein recruit/being recruited hone wala tin batches ko IRMS (Traffic), IRMS (Personnel) ya IRMS (Accounts) teen sub-cadres mein se choose karne ka option diya jaayega. Ye faisla 9 October, 2024 ko Gazette notification mein announce kiya gaya tha. 2019 se pehle, railways ke aath Group A services alag-alag the aur unki recruitment alag-alag exams ke through hoti thi. PM Narendra Modi ki chair mein Union Cabinet ne 2019 mein in services ko IRMS mein unify karne ka approval diya tha.
