India ke eastern neighbour mein chal rahi turmoil ne North East connectivity plans ko impact kiya hai, jinka zyadatar part Bangladesh se hota hai. Is saal (June ke aaspaas) Railway Board ne Bangladesh, Nepal aur dusre alternative routes se North-East ki taraf jaane wala 1275.50 km ka Final Location Survey (FLS) approve kiya tha. Is survey mein, Bangladesh se connect hone wali new lines 500 km ki hogi, aur gauge conversion 367 km ka hoga. Nepal mein, 200 km se zyada new lines lay ki jaayengi, aur North East mein 212 km ki lines layi jaayengi. Bangladesh mein railway tenders mein participate karne ki plans bhi affected hui hain. RVNL officials ke mutaabiq, company ₹2500 crore ke tenders mein participate karne ki ummid kar rahi thi, jismein zyadatar LoC (line of credit) aur government grant projects shamil the, lekin ab yeh short term mein nahin ho paayega. Maldives mein, RVNL ko ongoing Harbour project se karib ₹300 crore ka revenue hit hua hai. 2022 mein, Navratna company ko Maldives mein UTF (Uthuru Thila Falhu-Island) Harbour project ke liye project implementation agency banaya gaya tha. Project, ₹1,544.60 crore ki cost pe, 24 months mein complete hona tha. Ircon International ne bhi confirm kiya hai ki Myanmar (Bangladesh ke alawa) mein unke overseas projects mein “drawbacks” hue hain. Government of India se aane wala funding, jo MEA dwara grant ya LoC ke form mein projects ko diya jaata hai, “wait-and-watch” ki position mein hai. Ircon ka domestic to international order-book ratio 91:9 hai.
