Very sad to see one of the best Tourist spots of WB is Mukutmanipur but still not connected by Railways. SER Adra division Scrapped Chatna-Mukutmanipur New line project citing "Not Feasable". I doubt on the SER officials who submitted the report to RB citing this reason ...where everybody in WB knows how important Tourist destination is Mukutmanipur. Now Mukutmanipur Festival is going on presently and all Road transport vehicles like bus, car, taxi, toto,etc, etc r earning good amount of money in this season by transportation of tourists there. But SER is telling project not feasable..... thereby helping road mafias to earn money year after year.
