Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated an 18-kilometer section of the Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore passenger railway line on Saturday. He also flagged off the newly introduced MEMU train. After flagging off the train at Gopinathpur Nilgiri station, Vaishnaw praised the Narendra Modi-led central government, stating that Odisha now receives an average of ₹10,000 crore annually for railway infrastructure development, compared to much lower allocations during the UPA government's time. He highlighted PM Modi's focus on Odisha's railway infrastructure development. He claimed that while the average track expansion was previously 25-30 kilometers per year, it has now increased to over 450 kilometers annually in the national network. Regarding railway projects in Odisha, Vaishnaw mentioned the completion of the survey for the Jaleswar-Chandaneswar rail route, which will soon be extended to Digha in West Bengal. He also announced the commencement of a new railway flyover at Khatapaड़ा in Balasore district. A MEMU train, which stands for Main Electric Multiple Unit, is a high-tech train equipped with advanced features, typically used for journeys exceeding 200 kilometers. It comprises a power car and four coaches, and its speed is faster than passenger trains. The train will operate three times daily between Gopinathpur Nilgiri and Balasore starting on January 14th.

Gopinathpur Nilgiri railway station par train ko hari jhandi dikhane ke baad Vaishnaw ne Narendra Modi neet kendra sarkar ki taarif ki. Unhone kaha ki ab Odisha ko railway bunyaadee dhaancha ke vikas ke liye har saal average 10,000 crore rupee milte hain, jabki Sampark government ke tahat rajya ke liye avantan rashi bahut kam thi. Ye train high technology aur advance features se laas hoti hai. In trainon ka istemal aamtor par 200 kilometer se adhik doori tay karne ke liye hota hai. Isme 4 coach ke saath 1 power car lagi hoti hai. MEMU train ka jyadatar istemal ek shahar ko doosre shahar se jodne mein hota hai. Inki raftar passenger trainon se zyada hoti hai. 14 January se Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore ke beech rojana teen jodi MEMU yaatri special train chalengi.
