Jul 05 (07:45)   Modernization of Dhanbad Railway Stations Stalled Due to Sand Shortage

Under the Indian government's 'Gati Shakti' initiative, modernization work began eight months ago at nine stations in the Dhanbad division. These stations are Gomoh, Katrasgarh, Hazaribagh Road, Parasnath, Koderma, Chandrapura, Paharpur, Garhwa, and Daltonganj. The work involves improvements to the circulating area, including roads, drains, porches, fountains, and lighting. However, the...

work has been significantly delayed due to a shortage of sand. This shortage is attributed to the lack of sand mining auctions across the state and a ban on sand mining from rivers by the National Green Tribunal (NGT). The delay has created hazardous conditions for passengers at the stations, with broken paths and exposed rods posing safety risks. The contractor blames the sand shortage for the delays, but the NGT ban makes it unclear when sand will be available. The work was expected to be completed by June, but the ongoing issues make it unlikely to be finished within the next six months.

Bharat Sarkar ke 'Gati Shakti' abhiyan ke neeche, Dhanbad mandal ke 9 stations ka aadhunikaran ka kaam 8 mahine pehle start hua tha. Ye stations hain Gomoh, Katrasgarh, Hazaribagh Road, Parasnath, Koderma, Chandrapura, Paharpur, Garhwa, aur Daltonganj. Kaam me circulating area me sudhar karna hai, jaise road, nali, porch, fountain, aur...

light lagna. Lekin, kaam me bahut der ho rahi hai kyunki sand ki kami hai. Ye kami poora state me sand mining auctions na hone ke wajah se hai, aur National Green Tribunal (NGT) ne river se sand mining pe rok laga diya hai. Is delay se stations pe passengers ke liye khatarnaak halat ban gayi hai, jisme toote raste aur bahar nikli rods se safety risks hain. Contractor sand ki kami ko blame kar raha hai, lekin NGT ka ban se pata nahin chal raha hai ki kab sand mil payega. Kaam June tak complete hone wala tha, lekin yeh issues ke wajah se next 6 mahine me bhi kaam khatam hona mushkil hai.
