Yesterday, Shri A.K. Siddhartha, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE) of Southern Railway, led the statutory inspection of the newly electrified Madurai Junction - Bodinayakkanur Section spanning 90.41 km.
Starting from Madurai Junction at 09:30 hrs, the inspection journey covered various checkpoints including Road Over Bridge No.4 (Madurai outer), Level Crossing No.6, Sub sectioning Post at Usilampatti, OHE wiring over the railway bridge, and curvature assessments.
At Andipatti Railway station, the inspection delved into OHE arrangements beneath the Foot Over Bridge, along with assessing staff competency and the adequacy of maintenance tools and equipment for working in the electrified section.
The inspection concluded at Bodi at 14:20 hrs, with particular attention given to safety measures at the Power line crossing at Km 66.
Following the inspection, a speed trial was conducted using a train formation attached with an AC (Electric) Loco, starting from Teni at 17:53 hrs and arriving back at Madurai at 19:25 hrs.

Sundaresan, Chief Electrical Distribution Engineer (CEDE), Shri Sandeep Kumar, Chief Signal and Telecommunications Engineer (Planning), Shri C. Selvam, Additional Divisional Railway Manager of Madurai Division, Shri M.S. Rohan, Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer of Railway Electrification, Madurai, and Shri S. Muthukumar, Divisional Electrical Engineer, Traction Distribution, accompanied the PCEE during the inspection and speed trial.}
