The sad and pathetic state of suburban travel(mmts) in Hyderabad
*See the below image for example
The old train was running with 1hr 30min for a distance of 38km (25kmph)
The new time table which shows further delay by 20 min(38km in 2hr ~20kmph)
Plus
...
we can regularly see delay of 10 mins
lol atleast by road or cycle would seem better
Hyderabad metro with frequent stops(every 1km) give 36kmph
There is a lack of frequency too on secunderabad lingampalli route (24 services with mostly a service every 1 hour and scr lacks the rush hour logic 😂(same 1 local for hour
Scr always wants to push every long distance train to Secunderabad and also the demand from ap and Maharashtra people that every express train needs to pass by lingampalli..at cost of suffering of daily commuters of Hyderabad.. every time scr is diverting train through lpi ..one mmts service is getting delayed or cancelled
At secunderabad station to cross 2 km strech it will take 10-20 min..

On the other end bus transport (tsrtc) has multiple services (every 30 secs approx ) from secunderabad to pathancheru (near to lpi)(30km in 2hrs 15kmph speed ticket is 35rs but running in profit (it has peak ridership)
Since tsrtc has hiked bus ticket there will be sharp shift towards mmts and metro ... even if scr wants to increase ticket from (10 to 20rs it won't effect ridership)

A daily commuters knows the pain of Begumpet-secunderabad bus route (5km will take 30min daily and 1hr during monsoon) only metro and mmts are at rescue

Plus mmts phase 2 whose ghatkesar, ramachandrapuram, umdanagar(near to airport) will be hit from day 1 itself , medchal line (would gain ridership if trains run regularly at bodhan , nizamabad, medak, siddipet (Karimnagar)

There is rapid growth of population in Hyderabad like it hub at medchal in North,
Cherlapally railway terminal , Infosys (ghatkesar), industrial and it hub at cherlapally(which is already running ) and huge townships at cherlapally, ghatkesar, bhongir , boduppal, yadagirigutta temple at bhongir

Dont know how secunderabad will be handled without extra platforms what i guess scr will 5 services on each section and wipe out its hands

With the ongoing tussle bw scr and Telangana government about mmts phase 2 project where scr needs to deposit 2/3 of 900 crores
It would be hard for new project's ..
Initially when mmts phase was developed using states partnership all single lines were doubled and promise was made that mmts will be given priority over express , now the result is opposite..
Mmts phase 1 was planned without future prediction ... lack of platform at Begumpet junction and kacheguda (new pfs came around 2016)

All network around india are bieng quadrapled or 6/8 lines , but secunderabad bieng a junction of around 20 national lines (i mean routes) still a double line section

My current demand if phase 2 is introduced will be
1) lingampalli falaknuma mmts train needs to be eliminated and run as lingampalli secunderabad and secunderabad falaknuma section
2) No phase 2 trains passing through secunderabad must run upto lingampalli.Instead run as seperately bw
i) Hyderabad-lingampally/pathancheru
ii) secunderabad-pathancheru
iii) secunderabad- ghatkesar via malkajgiri or maulali based on slot available
iv)secunderabad-bolarum-medchel-manoharabad
(iv) secunderabad-falaknuma-umdanagar
(v) ghatkesar /cherlapally - lingampalli/sanathnagar

What my future demand is that with priority in order the following works needs to be executed
1) Begumpet lingampalli quadrapling in 2 phases
Phase A : lingampalli - sanathnagar could be easily executed by railway because of land availability
Phase B: sanathnagar- Begumpet must be executed by state (giving land for free because state is already widening roads and flyovers .. Begumpet railway station could be eliminated fully or partially due to land problems
2)trains should be run between lingampalli-neclace road(hussain sagar) by creating terminating platform later could be executed upto khairtabad (if land from maqta basti is taken)

3) secunderabad - lalaguda section must be made a clear 7-8 line section..
(3/4 for kzj , 2 for bolarum/mkj,2 for kcg Bound train's)
currently it is 5 line section (3 fully dedicated to kzj other 2 bieng shared by kcg /bolarum line

4)if possible in future seperate terminal (6pf) at secunderabad chilalguda side
Which must be used for emu /demu/memu trains combinedly (in future small towns Like nzb gajwel, siddipet, mahbubnagar will be connected with memus
land is fully available with the demolition of staff quarters (roads needs to be redesigned)

5)3/4 line section bw malkajgiri - sitaphalmandi bypass section so that bypass trains pass without hassle
Eventhough metro has parallel lines but mmts can also give tough competition considering the geography of Hyderabad and person traveling bw opposite directions will always opt mmts ( north south, north east , east west) and for ppl boarding long distance trains will opt mmts only coz it would comfortable
Don't know what be the future but atleast a strong planning and design should be made
