that KRCL, due to its lack of funds, could take four decades to align with Indian Railways infrastructure standards. The Samithi, in a letter to the Railway Minister on November 30th, detailed KRCL's inadequacies, highlighting the need for integration of the Roha-Madgaon and Madgaon-Mangaluru sections with Central and South Western Railways, respectively. They argue that merging KRCL would enable quicker implementation of projects, facilitate seamless travel between Mumbai and Konkan and between Karnataka and Bengaluru, establish a freight corridor along the West Coast, and develop terminal facilities at Sawantwadi, Ratnagiri, and Karwar. The Samithi also criticizes KRCL's 40% passenger and 50% freight surcharge, arguing that merging with Indian Railways would alleviate this burden. Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg MP Vinayak Raut has also voiced his support for the merger, writing to the Railway Minister on December 6th, stating that KRCL's limitations are hindering the Konkan region's growth.

Unka argument hai ki KRCL ko merge karne se projects jaldi complete honge, Mumbai aur Konkan ke beech aur Karnataka aur Bengaluru ke beech travel aasan hoga, West Coast par freight corridor ban payega, aur Sawantwadi, Ratnagiri, aur Karwar mein terminal facilities ban payengi.
