In the last ever Trip that I went on before the Lockdown started, I had been to Toothukudi (Tuticorin) for a training. For my return Journey, I decided to visit Tiruchendur Murugan Temple, one of 6 abodes of Lord Murugan in Tamilnadu. From there, I boarded the 16106 Tiruchendur - Chennai Egmore Express. This train is the only express train plying in the Tiruchendur - Tirunelveli branch line; it's coach composition and their positions are more or less fixed, owing to platform length issues of the station in this route. Therefore, the coach board indicators of all the halts in this route for this train are printed and displayed on Poles.

began our Journey late in the evening at 19:00 hrs from Tiruchendur and reached Chennai the following morning at 11:00 hrs. Our train was hauled by GOC WDP-4D from Tiruchendur to Villupuram Jn.; and from there a RPM WAP-7 took charge. I hope you enjoy the Journey as much as I did.
