grievances stated here below:
1. The express / mail / super-fast trains (as listed below*) should be made to halt in this station as it was before the introduction of the broad-gauge line like these trains stopping at the Chidambaram (CDM) railway station. Although not all trains, at least daily trains should be stopped.
2. The railway platform should be elevated and extended too length wise.
3. The reservation counter that was functioning earlier should resume its function.
4. The electric lamps should be repaired.
5. The RailTel internet service should be available to the public.
6. The basic amenities like drinking water, rest rooms and waiting hall have to be made.
7. The Railway timetable and information sign board are necessary for regular passengers with other facilities like automatic ticket vending machines, ATM machines, information kiosks, LCD screens, internet cafes and TV advertising panels.
8. In order to prevent possible crimes and illegal activities the CCTV cameras have to be fixed wherever necessary.
9. The places around the station are to be maintained properly. The unnecessary bushes in the vicinity should be cleared off.
10. Considering the overall safety of the passengers, there must be an Iron fencing around the station.
11. The main paths / roads leading to the station are to be maintained properly from time to time.
12. The station’s new building, now in a worst condition should be restored back to its proper use or normal functioning.
13. Permanent railway employees should be appointed.
14. The old double / triple track system existed before the construction of the broad-gauge railway line can be reintroduced.
15. The housing quarters of the employees could be constructed close to the station.
16. If the east coast services are to be commenced, due importance must be given to Parangipettai (PO) railway station.

The old removed schemes have to restored back because the schemes were removed without the consent of the general public.

We have been struggling hard for years to redeem the lost schemes for the welfare of the general public. Therefore, we believe that our just grievances will be heard by the railway authorities and subsequent actions will be taken at the earliest possible.

On behalf of the thousands of travelers who use the trains every day, I hope you and your government will consider this request of us. I would therefore request your kind intervention to take necessary action in this regard.

"பரங்கிப்பேட்டை," கடலூர் மாவட்டத்தில் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க வரலாற்று பெருமைகளை தனக்கு சொந்தமாக்கி கொண்ட ஒரு பேரூர், இப்போது சில அடிப்படை உரிமைகளை இழப்பதன் மூலம் மீண்டும் வரலாற்றில் கசப்பான வகையில் இடம் பெற இருக்கிறது.

இல்லாத வகையில் அரசுத்துறைகளின் அலுவலகங்கள், நீதிமன்றம் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு அலுவலகங்கள் - வங்கி - கல்வி நிலையங்கள் அமைந்தும், தாலுகா தலைநகராக ஆக்கப்படாமல், "மாநில அரசால் வஞ்சிக்கப்பட்ட இந்த பேரூர்", இப்போது "மத்திய அரசால் வஞ்சிக்கப்பட இருக்கிறது".

மத்திய - மாநில அரசுகளின் கள நிலவரம் அறியாத (?!) நிலைக்கு - சூழ்ச்சிக்கு ஆளாகும் இப்பேரூர் பகுதி மக்கள், அத்தகைய திட்டங்களுக்கு சிவப்பு கம்பளம் விரித்து வரவேற்பு பண் இசைக்கவில்லை என்றாலும், மவுனம் காப்பது, வரவேற்பு நல்குவதற்கு ஒப்பானது தானே...?

ஒரு ரயில் நிலையத்தில் ஒரு நாளைக்கு குறைந்தபட்சம் 50 பேர் ரயில்களில் இருந்து ஏறவோ, இறங்கவோ வேண்டும். அப்படி இல்லாவிட்டால் அது வருவாய் குறைந்த ரயில் நிறுத்தமாகவே கருதப்பட்டு, அங்கு இனிமேல் ரயில்கள் நிறுத்தப்படாது என்று ரயில்வே வாரிய தலைவர் வி.கே.யாதவ் அண்மையில் கூறி இருந்தார்,.

நாடு முழுவதும் 6000 ரயில் நிலையங்களும் அதில் தமிழகத்தில் 62 ரயில் நிலையங்கள் முடப்பட இருக்கிறது என தகவல் வெளியாகியது அதனை தொடர்ந்து, குவைத் தமிழ் இஸ்லாமிய சங்கத்தின் பொதுச் செயலாளர், தகவல் அறியும் உரிமைச் சட்டப்போராளி பரங்கிப்பேட்டை கலீல் பாகவீ, பரங்கிப்பேட்டை, கிள்ளை, புதுச்சத்திரம், ஆலப்பாக்கம் உள்ளிட்ட ரயில் நிலையங்களில் "ஆண்டு வருமானம் என்ன?" என்பது குறித்து தகவல் அறியும் உரிமை சட்டம் மூலம் விபரங்கள் கோரியிருந்தார்.

இதற்கு பதிலளித்துள்ள தெற்கு ரயில்வே துறை கடந்த 2014 இல் இருந்து 2020 வரை சராசரியாக பரங்கிப்பேட்டை ரயில் நிலையத்தின் ஆண்டு வருமானம் 10லட்சம் (ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் பத்து லட்சம் அளவுக்கு) என்று குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது, மேலும் இதே காலகட்டத்தில் புதுச்சத்திரம் ரயில் நிலையத்தின் ஆண்டு வருமானம் 1 இலட்சத்து சொச்சம் மட்டுமே, ஆலப்பாக்கம் - 2 இலட்சத்து சொச்சம்,_கிள்ளை - 4 இலட்சத்து சொச்சம்.

இந்த நான்கு நிலையங்களிலேயே பரங்கிப்பேட்டை இரயில் நிலையத்தில் தான் பலமடங்கு அதிக வருமானம் வருகிறது என்பது இதன் மூலம் தெளிவாக தெரிகிறது.

இந்த அளவு வருமானம் தரும் இரயில் நிலையத்தை மூட அரசாங்கம் முனைவது அதிர்ச்சி அளிப்பதாக உள்ளது.இதன் பின் ஏதோ அரசியல் இருப்பதையே இது காண்பிக்கிறது.

மேலும், நடைமேடை உயர்த்தி தரக் கோரியும், எக்ஸ்பிரஸ் ரயில்கள் நின்று செல்லக் கோரியும் பல வருடங்களாக மக்கள் போராடிவரும் நிலையில் இவ்வளவு வருமானம் வரும் இரயில் நிலையத்தை மேம்படுத்தாமல் மூட முனைகின்றனர்.

அதே சமயம் புதுச்சத்திரம் ரயில் நிலையம் அருகிலுள்ள தனியார் அனல் மின் நிலையத்துக்கு பயன்படுகிறது என்பதற்காக தரம் உயர்த்தி நான்கு பாதைகள் அமைத்தனர், இருந்தும் அங்கு வருமானம் குறைவாகவே உள்ளது

பரங்கிப்பேட்டை இரயில் நிலையத்தை மூடுவதன் மூலம் புதுச்சத்திரம் இரயில் நிலையத்திற்கு மக்கள் அதிகம் வருவார்கள், என்பதற்காக இப்படி செய்கிறார்களா? என்று சிலர் கேள்வி எழுப்புகின்றனர். அப்படி ஒரு மறைமுக திட்டம் இருந்தாலும் சுற்றியிருக்கும் சின்னூர், புதுப்பேட்டை, சாமியார்பேட்டை உள்ளிட்ட கிராம மக்களுக்கு பரங்கிப்பேட்டை நிலையம் தான் அருகில் உள்ளது. அனைவரும் பரங்கிப்பேட்டை நிலையத்தை தான் இதுநாள்வரை பயன்படுத்தி வருகின்றனர்.

பொது மக்களின் நீண்ட நாள் கோரிக்கைக்கு செவிமடுக்காமல் தனியார் முதலாளிக்கு சார்பாக மத்திய இரயில்வே துறை நடந்து கொள்வதாக மக்கள் குற்றம் சாட்டுகின்றனர்.

இரயில் நிலையம் மூடப்படுவது குறித்து திருச்சி கோட்டத்திற்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட தகவல் அறியும் உரிமை மனுவுக்கு இதுவரை பதில் வரவில்லை.

சிதம்பரம் மக்களவை உறுப்பினர் தொல்.திருமாவளவன் இது குறித்து பாராளுமன்றத்தில் குரல் எழுப்பி, பரங்கிப்பேட்டை சுற்றுவட்டாரப்பகுதி மக்களின் அடிப்படை உரிமையை தக்க வைக்க பாடுபடுவாரா...? என்ற காத்திருப்பில் இப்பகுதி மக்கள்.!
