Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has requested the Railway Ministry to extend the Mangaluru Central-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express to Mumbai CSMT. and amalgamating it with the Mumbai CSMT-Madgaon-Mumbai CSMT VB Express. Alternatively, the Mangaluru-Madgaon VB could operate as a tri-weekly express to Mumbai CSMT. Mr. Kateel has received numerous requests from his constituents to extend the VB Express to Mumbai. He argues that the train's enhanced comfort and catering facilities would make a 12-hour journey less tiring. He has also rejected proposals to extend the train to Kozhikode in Kerala, stating that such an extension wouldn't benefit passengers.

Dakshina Kannada ke Lok Sabha member Nalin Kumar Kateel ne Railway Ministry se Mangaluru Central-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express ko Mumbai CSMT tak extend karne ka request kiya hai. Unhone dono cities ke beech day-time service ki demand ko highlight kiya aur believe kiya ki yeh extension connectivity ko enhance karega. Unhone...

train ki capacity ko 16-car rakes tak badhane aur Mumbai CSMT-Madgaon-Mumbai CSMT VB Express ke saath merge karne ka suggestion diya hai. Dusra option ke tor par, Mangaluru-Madgaon VB ko tri-weekly express banakar Mumbai CSMT tak operate kiya ja sakta hai. Mr. Kateel ko apne constituents se VB Express ko Mumbai tak extend karne ke liye kai requests mili hain. Unhone argue kiya ki train ki enhanced comfort aur catering facilities se 12-hour journey less tiring ho jaayegi. Unhone Kerala ke Kozhikode tak train extend karne ke proposal ko reject kar diya hai, kyoki unka belief hai ki aisa extension passengers ko koi benefit nahi dega.

The Mangaluru Central-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express, launched on December 30th, has seen low occupancy during its first month of operation. With an average occupancy of 37% on the Mangaluru-Madgaon route and 43% on the return journey, the train carried a total of 9,549 passengers in 23 round trips. This contrasts with...

the Mumbai CSMT-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express, which boasted 93% occupancy on the onward journey and 99% on the return leg. Passenger associations argue that the Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express's low occupancy is due to its lack of connection to either a state capital or a major commercial center. They suggest extending the service to Mumbai CSMT by merging it with the Mumbai CSMT-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express and increasing the number of coaches to 16. Supporters point out that the extension would provide a day-time train between Mangaluru and Mumbai, fulfilling a long-standing demand of the coastal population. They also highlight the potential for the train to attract passengers accustomed to long bus journeys by offering a more comfortable and efficient alternative. Some propose a six-month trial period to assess the viability of extending the service to Mangaluru.

December 30 ko launch hua Mangaluru Central-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express, apne pehle month mein kam occupancy dekha hai.

contrast karta hai, jiske onward journey mein 93% aur return journey mein 99% occupancy thi. Passenger associations ka kehna hai ki Mangaluru-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express ki kam occupancy ka reason hai state capital ya koi major commercial center se connection ka nahin hona. Supporters ka kehna hai ki yeh extension Mangaluru aur Mumbai ke beech ek day-time train provide karega, jo ki coastal population ki bahut saal se demand hai. Woh yeh bhi highlight karte hain ki train uss potential ko attract kar sakti hai jo ki lambi bus journeys mein aadat ho gaye hain, aur ek comfortable and efficient alternative offer kar sakti hai. Kuchh logon ka suggestion hai ki chhe mahine ke trial period ke liye service ko Mangaluru tak extend kiya jaaye, taaki uske viability ko check kiya ja sake.

Panchaganga should not be disturbed. Instead, SMVT MRDW (via MYS MAQ) should be speeded up with useful TT. If needed, few more coaches can be added.
Another option could be to have a triweekly night train instead of daytime useless YPR KAWR. Make Gomateshwara (extend to MAQ) as a daily day time train and make YPR KAWR as a night train.
Another suggestion: Let Gomateshwara return as ONT via Mysore. Put it differently, Gomateshwra can start at 0800 at SBC and reach MAQ by 1800 and

return as MAQ SBC via Mysore. SBC MAQ via MYS can reach MAQ by 0830 and return as Gomateshwara.
