The proposed Ambikapur-Barwadih line, however, faced opposition from Coal India as their mines are not located along this route. The Ministry of Railways has also approved surveys for Ambikapur-Vindhyamganj and Ambikapur-Garhwa railway lines. A survey has begun for laying a railway line from Vindhamganj in the district to Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh. This survey is being conducted as part of the Ministry of Railways' plan to connect Ambikapur to Vindhamganj by making the latter a junction station.

Jile ke Vindhamganj se Chhattisgarh ke Ambikapur tak railway line bichhane ke liye survey ka kaam shuru ho gaya hai. Vindhamganj railway station ko junction bana kar yaha se Ambikapur ko jodne ki rail ministry ki yojana ke tahat survey ho raha hai.
