Extending the train service is expected to reduce the strain on the Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai Netravati Express and the Parasuram Express to Mangalore. The Shoranur-Kannur-Shoranur Unreserved Special Express (06031/06032) covers over 200 km and has a minimum fare of Rs. 30, while regular passenger train fares are Rs. 10. Usually, trains traveling over 200 km are classified as express services. However, the Shoranur-Kannur route is only 176 km long, falling under the special service category to manage congestion.

Ab is train ke aane aur jaane ka time change kiya gaya hai. Example ke liye, yeh train pehle Ernakulam Junction pe 6:35 pm pe pahunchta tha, ab woh 7 minutes late 6:42 pm pe pahunchega. Is train ka departure time station se 6:45 pm se hoga.
