On Sunday night, an attempt was made to derail the Kalindi Express by placing a gas cylinder on the tracks between Kanpur and Bilhour. The North Eastern Railway has ordered a high-level investigation. Previously, on August 16, the 19168 Sabarmati Express traveling from Kanpur to Ahmedabad derailed with 22 coaches, including the engine, after hitting a boulder near Govindpuri and Bhimsen. Investigations by the Senior Administrative Grade (SAG), District Police, and NIA revealed that a 1.10-meter piece of old rail track was tied to the track using bolts. The piece of rail was found at the accident site. On August 24, a passenger train traveling from Farrukhabad to Kasganj narrowly avoided a major accident when a pile of wood was placed on the tracks. The train's high speed averted a major disaster. All three incidents involved the tracks, and the Railway Intelligence Agency suspects a conspiracy. Rajendra Singh, PRO of Izzatnagar, stated that the driver, Rajkishore, reported the incident involving the gas cylinder placed on the tracks in front of the Kalindi Express. The RPF team is investigating the incident, and the truth is expected to be revealed soon.
