Notably, Member of Parliament Devendra Singh was also travelling on the train and was stranded. The train departed from New Delhi at 11:45 PM for Kanpur and was scheduled to reach Tundla at 3:00 AM. The brake assembly jammed just before reaching Tundla, causing the wheels to lock up. The train driver informed the control room and halted the train at Tundla. Consequently, the train departed for Kanpur only at 5:10 AM on Friday. An investigation into the incident has been ordered. The train finally arrived at Kanpur Central at 8:05 AM.
