The Dhanbad-Surat train is yet to commence operations despite previous demands. While some weekly trains have been introduced, such as Dhanbad-Coimbatore, Dhanbad-Jammu Tawi express, the overall neglect is baffling, considering the station's historical significance and being the oldest in Dhanbad Rail Division.

Kodarma ke baad, sirf Parasnath station mein train rok di jaati hai. 15 September ko, teen Vande Bharat Express trains chalne lage, lekin inme se ek bhi train Saraiya station par nahi rukti hai. Dhanbad se Surat ki train abhi bhi nahi chal paayi hai, halanki pehle se iske liye demands thi.
