A Gram Sabha meeting was held in Padapahar Mundasai village in Noamundi block on Tuesday, where villagers protested against the proposed acquisition of 21.32 acres of land by the Railways for a bypass line. 24 villagers were promised jobs in the Railways during the construction of the double line between Padapahar and Banspani in 2009-10, but only 15 received jobs, and the remaining 9 were put on the waiting list. They have been denied both jobs and compensation for the land acquired 14 years ago. An additional 63 villagers were found to have their land acquired during a new demarcation of the land last year, but this report was not acknowledged by the Chakradharpur Railway Division. The villagers also said that the Railway Ministry has issued a notification for the construction of a 2.253 km bypass line from Noamundi to Padapahar Jamkundiya, for which they need 21.32 acres of land in 119 plots.

Mangalwar ko Noamundi block ke Padapahar Mundasai gaon mein Gram Sabha hui, jahaan gramineon ne railway dwara 21.32 acre jamin adhigrahan ki yojana ke khilaaf narajgi jatai. Graminon ne pehle diye gaye muavze aur naukri ke bare mein bhi narazgi jatai.
