causing them to break and cut off power supply to the train. The pilot applied emergency brakes, bringing the train to a halt, causing panic among the passengers. Sparks erupted from the train's upper section due to the fallen wires. The railway's technical team arrived at the scene and restored power supply after clearing the tree from the track after a 90-minute effort. The train resumed its journey around 2 a.m., but most passengers had already left for their destinations by road. The incident caused disruption to train operations for two hours. A trial run of a new Vande Bharat train service between New Jalpaiguri and Patna was conducted on Tuesday. The train departed from New Jalpaiguri at 1:40 p.m. and arrived at Patna Junction platform 6 at 10:05 p.m. The proposed schedule for this new service is as follows: the train will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 5:15 a.m., reach Katihar at 7:45 a.m., and depart again at 7:50 a.m. It will arrive at Patna Junction at 12:10 p.m. and depart for New Jalpaiguri at 1:00 p.m., reaching Katihar at 5:35 p.m. and leaving at 5:40 p.m. It will finally arrive at New Jalpaiguri at 8:00 p.m. The train is expected to have stops at Kishanganj, Navgachhia, Khagaria, Begusarai, Mokama, Bakhtiyarpur, and Patna City.
