Recognizing Devghar's importance as a pilgrimage destination, the Chamber advocates for expanding rail infrastructure and introducing new passenger trains to cater to the increasing influx of pilgrims and local travelers. The Chamber has specifically demanded 6 new trains: a Devghar-Jamalpur train, a Jasidih-Godda train via Mohanpur and Hansdiha, an additional train from Hansdiha, a Devghar-Bhagalpur/Jamalpur train via Mohanpur and Hansdiha, a Devghar-Patna Intercity train via Mohanpur, Hansdiha and Bhagalpur, and a Godda-Patna Intercity train via Hansdiha, Mohanpur, Devghar, and Jasidih. Additionally, they have requested that the existing Devghar-Saraiagarh train (05574/05573) be made regular with 16 coaches and the existing Jamalpur-Devghar (03634/03633) and Devghar-Godda (03386/03385) trains be upgraded to 16-coach trains. The Chamber also urged the railway authorities to install toilets in all coaches of the existing Jasidih-Patna MEMU train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the Dumka-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express along with the Baidyanath Dham-Kashi Vishwanath Vande Bharat Express from Tatanagar in Jamshedpur on September 15th. The Baidyanath Dham-Kashi Vishwanath Vande Bharat Express will depart from Baidyanath Dham at 3:15 PM, reaching Varanasi at 10:20 PM after stops at Jasidih, Jhajha, Nawada, Gaya, and Deen Dayal Upadhyay stations. The return journey from Varanasi will commence at 6:20 AM, arriving in Baidyanath Dham at 1:30 PM. The train will offer convenience for pilgrims visiting Baba Baidyanath in Deoghar, Vishnu Pad Temple in Gaya, and Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi.

The modernization includes a complete transformation of the station's look, improvements to the area in front of the station, and better parking and other basic amenities. The first phase of the project involved spending 15 crore INR on station development, followed by a second phase with a 10 crore INR investment for further development. Key improvements in the first phase include the construction of two foot over bridges, an electric escalator, expansion of the parking area, a new look for the front of the station, and the installation of wall-mounted TVs displaying train schedules. The VIP lounge is also under construction. The DRM emphasized the importance of Godda station, being a key station in the Malda division, and highlighted the good progress made so far in the development process, aiming to create a more comfortable and convenient experience for passengers.

The train departs from Tatanagar at 6:50 PM on Fridays and reaches Jaynagar at 11:30 AM on Saturdays. The return journey starts from Jaynagar at 7:30 PM on Saturdays and reaches Tatanagar at 11:30 AM on Sundays. The MP plans to request the Railway Board to name the train after the famous poet, Vidyaapati. The demand for this train was raised by the Vidyaapati Parishad who had even threatened to boycott voting if the train wasn't introduced. The new train is being operated using coaches from the Godda weekly train.
