This is not the first instance of stone-throwing at the Vande Bharat Express. Similar incidents have occurred during trial runs near Gaya, and previously against the Bhubaneswar-Tatanagar Vande Bharat, Rourkela-Puri Vande Bharat, and Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat. Despite these incidents, no arrests have been confirmed. There have also been incidents targeting the Janshatabdi Express on the Howrah-Mumbai route near several stations in Kolhan.
