Stop the flyover, build the metro, say experts

Board. They argue that a metro line would be more environmentally friendly, reduce private vehicle use, and improve overall mobility compared to the flyover, which they believe will increase congestion and pollution. Experts highlight that the flyover violates planning laws and opposes urban planning principles. They also point out that the flyover would block the potential development of a future metro line in the corridor, ultimately hindering efficient mass transit. They argue that the flyover is a detrimental project that will encourage private vehicle use and worsen traffic congestion, while a metro line would offer a more sustainable and efficient solution.

Bengaluru mein 3 km lamba Ejipura Flyover ka construction 7 saal se aatak gaya hai, aur last six months mein sirf 4% kaam ho paya hai. Is delay ki wajah se, public mobility advocates government se yeh project cancel karne aur Byappanahalli aur Silk Board ke beech mein metro line banane...

Experts ka kehna hai ki flyover planning laws ko violate karta hai aur urban planning principles ke khilaf hai. Unhone yeh bhi bataya ki flyover, future mein corridor mein metro line banne ki possibility ko block kar dega, jisse efficient mass transit ko nuksan hoga. Building metro is good . But for this stretch, u need the flyover to be completed. Even u build metro here, traffic is still on the higher side. Also, they have to start the metro from silkboard loop and end point will have to go all the way till Indiranagar. Will take decades if started now. So, build the flyover first. U can parallely think abt metro
