I don't think there is any need to extend this train upto Kharagpur. But if this train can extend upto Durgapur/Burdwan it would be beneficial for the passengers.
Durgapur, burdwan has no pitlines so not possible at all.
From KHARAGPUR to Asansol there is huge demand of trains, only 1 passenger and 1 express train runs no other train. This will add another train between these 2 important stations. Also a connectivity via tatanagar to asansol will be established more passengers will be benefited.

If this train runs to Kharagpur via Tata then the distance between Asansol & Kharagpur will be around 300kms. approximately 100kms. greater than the shortest route.So extension of this train to Kharagpur is not possible.

Till yesterday for last few days some Railfan was debating in this forum that ASN-HLZ Exp needs to be cancelled or frequency to be reduced and ASN-DGHA Exp needs to be made Daily or Slip of ASN-DGHA EXP needs to be added with ASN-HLZ Exp......which according to me was not possible at all...
But this train ASN-TATA Exp can be Extended to Digha and can be made Regular with TT change.....i feel so............

13512 Asansol - Tatanagar Express arrives on pf 1 , 45 mins late behind 28744 BL WAG 7 + CLW made , ERODE WAP 7 30749. My and Somanko's 1st ED capture..
.
The locos were detached and the train departed with 27940 JHS WAG 7 , 40 mins behind schedule.
