This rake will be primarily maintained at GSN coaching Depot, Chennai Egmore. It was flagged off by Mr. C. Subramani (Technician-I)/C&W/MS who will be superannuating in November month of this year.

Chennai Division of Southern Railway has used Utkrisht coaches for Karaikal Express to enhance passenger comfort. This rake coaches were upgraded at the Carriage works Perambur, Loco works, Perambur and Golden rock workshop, Ponmalai with great efforts and dedication. .
