Ideally they could taken the shortest route with faster MPS... wondering why going via MV and then via Kanchipuram, etc....?? They could have very well connected MS and then headed to BZA....
This train was mentioned last year by railway minister when Kashi Tamil sangama was going on he will introduced one train from tamil nadu to Kashi.It took one year and other trains are not yet approved.Modi is visiting and he will inuagrate.
It is mainly to cover pilgrims area ,and it is going shortest route to varanashi by gondia route.saving 200 kms more.
What stoppage i want more? Look i'm not saying this only because of my hometown excluded, it is a mistake of excluding Tiruvannamalai over Kanchipuram and let the train roll more kms in chennai region with CGL, AJJ, PER stoppages.
The primary purpose of the train is to connect Popular Pilgrimages of TN with Kasi which is home to Lord Shiva's Popular Temple. They left out Tiruvannamalai, which is symbolically the "Tamilnadu's Kasi" and the biggest/popular/ancient/most sacred lord shiva temple in Tamilnadu.
With due respect, tell me what's the mistake here?...

It should have a daily intercity express an cannot rely on weeklies long distance trains from Cbennai. Hyderabad Chennai exp arrives in morning abs departs at night 2300 yercaud. The rake can used to run intercity from Chennai central at 800 and can return by 1900.
I'm not saying it will be sufficient enough, just saying would also be a chennai train which we all request everytime, The larger picture here is Much deserved Kashi Connectivity.

I think this could also be due to stereotype. When people from north come to TN they drive away straight to either coimbatore to see sathguru or madurai meenakshi temple or rameshwaram forgetting that there are famous temples also in places like Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Thanjavur, Palani, Chidambaram, Thiruchendur etc. Tourist department need to educate them on that and railways also should correct themselves.
It is part right and post covid, everything changed, now people come from every part of nation and Andhra,TL people contribute much than all. It is true that North Indian Pilgrims travel straight to rameswaram as it is being one of the 12 jyotirlinga and it is slowly changing.
The patronage of Hyderabad specials towards tiruvannamalai is high. The patronage from/to Tirupati and Tiruvannamalai is even more high than Hyderabad Specials. So, TNM Need Compensation/Alternate Trains for diversion of Purulia and Kharagpur Trains.
