Arunachala~ 707 blog postsI think, this train is also meant for Rameswaram and will go up to the same when pamban bridge is completed. TT of 16733(RMM-OKHA via KRR, SA,KPD) & this 09519 (MDU-OKHA via ,TPJ,VM,TNM,KPD) shares almost the same slot from KPD.
This decision might be taken to avoid SM complications and other PF issues at RMD/MNM. SM travel(RMD/MNM-MDU) also not needed as the train is terminating at MDU itself. If this is true, Overall, a good planning from SR ensuring western region connectivity to majority of TN as existing 16733...

Cutting down one of the slacks, preferably between TPJ-MDU may possibly enable the option to extend up to Tirunelveli for SM. Less turn around time might be a barrier to get extended beyond Tirunelveli, since it requires enough time for SM.
Moreover, South TN regions like Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Nagercoil, Kanniyakumari don't have direct train to interior western regions like OKHA. So, this needs to be addressed.
