To cater to the increasing demands of berths by travelling passengers during the Puja holidays, Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to run eight trips of puja specials from Guwahati to Howrah and another eight trips from Howrah To Guwahati to clear the rush during ensuing Puja holidays. Special train number 02502 will leave Guwahati every Saturday at 21-40 hrs. on 10h October, 17th October, 24th October, 31st October, 7th November, 14th November, 21st November and 28th November to reach Howrah station every Sunday at 13-35 hrs. November to arrive Guwahati station every Monday at 07-45 hrs . The train will run via Goalpara Town, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda town, Bolpur stations on both ways. AC 1st class, AC-2 tier, AC-3 tier, sleeper class and general second class accommodations are available.
Another seven trips of Puja special train will run between Dibrugarh and Kolkata. The special train no. 05942 will leave Dibrugarh every Sunday at 22-00 hrs. on 11th October, 18th October, 25th October, 1st November, 8th November, 15th November, and 22nd November to reach Kolkata at 06-15 hrs. on Tuesday. During return journey seven trips of the special train no. 05941will leave Kolkata every Tuesday at 07-40 hrs. on 13th October, 20th October, 27th October, 3rd November, 10th November, 17th November, and 24th November to arrive Dibrugarh station at 18-00 hrs on Wednesday. The train will run via New tinsukia, Mariani, Dimapur, Lumding, Hojai, Guwahati, Rangiya, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Bolpur, Barddhaman on both ways. AC-2 tier, AC-3 tier, sleeper class and general second class accommodations are available.
The above special train is in addition to attachment of additional coaches in many trains and other puja special trains that are being run between Kamakhya to Anandvihar(New Delhi) and back, Kamakhya to Bangalore and back, Kamakhya to Pune and back, Guwahati to Gorakhpur and back, Guwahati to Kochuveli (Trivandrum) and back, Katihar to Ferozpur and back and New Jalpaiguri to Sealdah/Howrah and back.
