The RPF and GRP team, along with an NGO representative, conducted the investigation following a tip-off about child trafficking. The children, who were found in the general bogie of the 12407 Karm Bhoomi Express, revealed they were being taken to work at a textile factory in Jalandhar. The rescued children, all minors, were handed over to Childline, while the traffickers were handed over to the Railway Police after questioning.
