It is true, Top n Town is a big brand in MP and CG still not famous outside these 2 states but it is expanding. I personally found the Top n Town better than that of Vadilal, Creambell, Dinshaw, Mother Dairy, Havmor and on par with Amul if not better.
I am a native of Jabalpur. What you said is correct. Ironically, this train is now a better option for JBP folks due to more convenient timing. Earlier it departed from JBP at 6 am and return arrival was 11.30 pm. I use a combination of this and 12001/12002 to travel to Delhi when flights are expensive and Gondwana / MPSK are in waiting (2AC waiting does not confirm easily for both).

Mostly dinner is served after jbp but if you want before jbp and the staff is good they will give you before
Snacks and dinner are provided for Rs 308. Couldn't understand why they need to provide dinner at 1900 itself for JBP arriving at 1950 which is early for dinner. Traveller can as well have it in his house.

Yes opt out I'd you returning to your home. Short journey u can buy some snacks from PF and save Rs 300. Select no food as option.
