The weather forecast suggests that heavy to very dense fog may persist in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Uttar Pradesh until January 26th. Several trains to and from the national capital were delayed. The Northern Railway issued an official statement outlining the delays, with the 12801 Rewa-Anand Vihar Express facing the longest delay of 5.45 hours, followed by the 12716 Amritsar-Nanded Express with a delay of 5.30 hours. Moderate fog was reported in Haryana-Chandigarh, West Rajasthan, and West Bengal. Shallow fog in Jammu Division, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand created visibility challenges. At 5:30 AM today, visibility was as follows: 500 meters in the Jammu Division, 50 meters in Patiala, Punjab, 500 meters at Palam and Safdarjung in Delhi, 25 meters in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, 50 meters in Prayagraj, 25 meters in Gaya, Bihar, and 200 meters in Patna. On January 21st, the minimum temperature in many parts of Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh remained below 2-4 degrees Celsius. Hisar, Haryana reported a minimum temperature of 2.8 degrees Celsius.

Hisar, Haryana mein 2.8 degrees Celsius minimum temperature report kiya gaya tha.

Rajdhani Express running 25 hours behind schedule. The cold has led to reduced school attendance, with some private schools starting classes later for younger students. Several parents have requested the district administration to consider school closures or schedule changes due to the cold. The fog has disrupted train schedules, with trains from North India running significantly delayed. The New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express was delayed by 25 hours, the New Delhi-Howrah Poorva Express by 21 hours, and other trains are also experiencing delays. Due to the delays in down line trains, up line trains are being rescheduled, causing further inconvenience to passengers.
