Prayagraj is the most populous district in the state and is also known as a religious and spiritual city. Several state-level offices, including the Allahabad High Court, are located in Prayagraj. Despite being the location of the General Manager and Divisional Railway Manager offices, 24 pairs of trains do not stop here, while all of these trains stop at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, located approximately 150 km away. Considering the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj next year, a demand has been made to ensure that all trains passing through the city stop there. Currently, a proposal has been sent to the Railway Board for all non-stop trains passing through Prayagraj to stop, keeping the Kumbh Mela in mind. While Prayagraj is the most populated district in the state and known for its religious significance, with offices like the Allahabad High Court, 24 pairs of trains do not stop at the junction, even though it is the headquarters of the Railway's General Manager and Divisional Railway Manager.
