A peacock was electrocuted when it came into contact with the pantograph of the 'Swatantrata Senani Express' train near Balarai railway station. The train was stopped at the station. The incident was reported to the forest department by railway officials.

Swatantra Senani Express arrived five hours late. The 15561 Swatantra Senani Express, departing from Jaynagar on December 22nd, arrived in Delhi eight hours late. Passengers faced inconvenience due to the delays. Several trains, including the Chhapra-Varanasi City, Harihar Nath Express, Chhapra-Farrukhabad Utsarg Express, Chhapra-Lucknow Express, and the Saryu Yamuna Express, were cancelled.
