This decision has caused inconvenience to low-income passengers, who are forced to buy expensive AC tickets or face overcrowding in the remaining sleeper coaches. While the railway claims the change is for passenger convenience, the reduction in sleeper coaches has led to overcrowding and discomfort. The spokesperson of the North Eastern Railway, Varanasi Division, claims the increase in AC coaches is a permanent decision.

Isse kam aay waale passengers ko pareshani ho rahi hai, kyunki unhein mahenge AC tickets lene pade rahe hain ya phir baki sleeper coaches mein bheed jhelni padti hai. Some trains will be delayed by varying durations, such as the 11072 Ballia-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express (Ballia to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus) being delayed by 150 minutes on Feb 21st, 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, and March 1st, 2nd, 3rd and by 100 minutes on March 4th, 2024. Certain trains will be terminated earlier or originate later, for example, the 05134 Jaunpur-Ghazipur City Unreserved Special train will be terminated at Aunrihar on March 5th, 2024. Some trains will be controlled on their routes, like the 11061 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Jaynagar Express being controlled for 180 minutes on February 21st and 28th, 2024. The full list of affected trains, their rescheduling, termination, origination, and control details are provided in the document.
